About the Author

Dr. Armand Lakner is an internationally published space scientist, author, and a WWII historian whose professional credits include co-authorship with a Nobel Prize laureate. His experience as a prisoner at the infamous Nazi concentration camp at Mauthausen, Germany/Austria, and his scientific work witth the German space pioneer Dr.Wernher von Braun at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration,NASA, lends intellectual credence and stark sense of realism to this work that takes the reader on a truly unforgettable adventure from Mauthausen to the moon.

Armand Lakner’s 32 family members were deported and exterminated at Auschwitz, just six months before WWII ended. Thanks to his determination and tenacity to survive his own incarceration ordeal, he managed to reconstruct his life in the US.

He lives with his wife, an accomplished artist, in Potomac, Maryland with frequent stays in Fenwick Island, Delaware.
